Representative examples of the normalized intensity distribution I(r), recorded with the CCD camera at two opposite intra- and extra-focal positions in a defocus of −230 mm and +230 mm (top). The central scatter peak, initially used to align the patterns, contributes ∼1–2% to the total power and is erased from all data sets before phase retrieval. Each image is composed of 512 × 512 pixels (13.5 µm) and scanned in the radial direction r at angles 0° ≤ φ < 180°.
