Representation of our soft X-ray fluorescence spectrometer designed for partial-fluorescence yield X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The setup incorporates a reflection zone plate (RZP) as the diffracting optical element and a detector to capture the metal L-edges as shown. The RZP and the CCD detector are attached and their positions can be adjusted relative to the sample via step motors. Figure taken from Kubin et al. (2018BB8).
