Elastic scans of Mn foil with (a) and (c) the three-crystal analyser with the Ge(333) reflection set at 74.8° for the Kα emission line, and (b) and (d) the 14-crystal analyser with the Si(440) reflection set at 84.2° for the Kβ emission line. Four-bounce Si(111) monochromation was used. The focus is notably sharper in panel (d) (the 14-analyser crystal) than in panel (c) (the three-analyser crystal). The FWHMs of the elastic peaks are about 1.03 eV and 0.61 eV for (c) and (d), respectively.
