Representative examples from the elemental intensity refinement task shown in Fig. 2[link](b). In each subplot (a)–(c), gray shows the experimental spectrum on a log scale, purple and pink curves are the NLopt and MapsTorch fits, respectively, using the same element list and parameter initialization. Spectra are shown as log10(counts+1) versus energy (keV). Colored vertical ticks label the characteristic line energies of the fitted elements. Across all three low intensity spectra, MapsTorch can fit low intensity spectra with small peaks better and yield better fits than NLopt.
