Compared with the results from the raster scans (first column), the adaptive approach (second column) more accurately predicts the signal patches in the ground-truth image (third column) due to the increased exposure time. This corresponds to a factor of two lower prediction error, illustrated by the pixel-wise squared errors on the right (fourth and fifth columns).
