Figure 2 Polyhedral representation of AM-1 along [010]. The interconnection between four SiO4 tetrahedra and one TiO5 square pyramid results in five-member rings which are the main building units of the [Ti2Si8O22]4- layers. The interlayer space is filled with Na+ cations and H2O molecules.
