Cover illustration: Structural analysis of the type VI secretion system adaptor protein Tla3 from Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain UCBPPPA14 [Chakraborty & Datta (2026), Acta Cryst. F82, 237–244] reveals that it shows structural similarity to thiolases or thiolase-like proteins, sharing an α–β–α–β–α folding topology, although the conserved catalytic cysteine of thiolases does not appear to be present in Tla3 from structure-based sequence alignment.

The cytosolic Nudix-like domain of the CBASS effector EfCap16 from E. faecalis was expressed, purified and crystallized, and its structure was determined by X-ray crystallography, revealing a canonical Nudix fold.

This article describes the structural characterization of cysteine-rich domain 1 of Dickkopf 4. Comparison with the solution NMR structure indicates that regions displaying increased conformational variability may be relevant for protein–protein interactions.
