Call for papers: Celebrating 20 years of Acta Crystallographica Section F
As part of the celebrations around the 20th anniversary of Acta Crystallographica Section F, the Section Editors are commissioning a celebratory collection of articles.
Whether it is a new protocol, a refined workflow, a software tool, an experimental strategy, or an insightful structural observation, we invite you to share the advances that have helped move the field forward. We are particularly interested in contributions that offer practical solutions, improve reproducibility, simplify complex procedures, or make structural biology more accessible, efficient and reproducible for the wider community.
We particularly welcome contributions describing:
- Innovative experimental workflows and laboratory protocols;
- Crystallization strategies and sample preparation;
- Structure determination, refinement and validation;
- Software tools, graphical user interfaces and computational pipelines;
- Characterization of new macromolecular structures and biologically relevant variants;
- Methodological developments supporting fragment screening, ligand discovery and structure-guided research;
- Reproducibility, best practices and technical optimization;
- Emerging approaches that simplify, strengthen or expand structural biology research.
As with all papers published in Acta Crystallographica Section F, contributions should be concise, practical and accessible, emphasizing developments that can be readily implemented by the structural biology community.
More than a celebration of the journal's history, this anniversary collection is an opportunity to recognize the practical innovations that have quietly transformed structural biology over the last twenty years. By bringing together these contributions, we hope to create a lasting resource that celebrates not only scientific achievements, but also the methods, workflows and technologies that make those achievements possible.
We warmly invite the structural biology community to participate in this celebration.
If you are interested in contributing, please send a brief summary of your proposed article to the Managing Editor at [email protected]. We would also be grateful if you could share this invitation with colleagues who may be interested and suggest additional authors whose work deserves to be represented in this anniversary collection.
If you have already been invited to contribute, please submit your manuscript using the dedicated submission portal below.
