In the structures of Ca[IrF6]·2H2O and Sr[IrF6]·2H2O, the cations have distorted square-antiprismatic coordinations. In Ba[IrF6], the cation has a cuboctahedral coordination. All three structures can be described as frameworks.

The title compound is isomorphous with the La and Pr members of the Ln3MoO7 series. However, a splitting of one of the lanthanide sites into two positions is observed in Sm3MoO7.

The structure of the complex phosphate KIn0.5Nb0.5OPO4 is merohedrally twinned about the [110] twofold axis. A ciscis linkage of [MO6] octahedra embodies a new subclass of 4/m symmetry structures.

Acta Crystallographica Section C is planning special issues on

The Structural Chemistry of Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysts

NMR Crystallography.

Full details are available on the special issues page.

The latest virtual issue, featuring Coordination polymers and with an introduction by Len Barbour, was published in July 2014.
