(NH4)[UO2(HSeO3)(SeO3)] contains layers of UO7 pentagonal bipyramids and selenite groups, with hydrogen bonds involving the ammonium ions connecting adjacent layers.

The loosely packed structure of Cs4YbCl7 consists of layers of close-packed YbCl63− octahedra and Cs+ ions separated by layers containing the other half of the Cs+ ions and the remaining Cl ion, which is sixfold disordered.

The metallic framework of Sr4Ga3Mo26O48 is based on infinite Mo7–Mo10–Mo7 chains and quasi-isolated monocapped octahedral Mo7 clusters which are interconnected through O atoms. The Sr2+ ions have environments derived from cuboctahedra and the Ga3+ ions are approximately tetrahedrally or octahedrally

LiCo2P3O10 and LiNi2P3O10 contain staggered chains of CoIIO6 and NiIIO6 octahedra, respectively, cross-linked by edge-sharing LiO6 groups. The P3O10 groups have both staggered and eclipsed conformations.

The {[Mo8O26(MoO4)]6−}n anion in (NH4)6[Mo9O30].5H2O has a zigzag chain structure in which two adjacent Mo8O26 moieties are linked by an MoO4 tetrahedron.

The bidentate and tridentate perchlorato groups in Yb(ClO4)3.H2O form a channelled three-dimensional network derived from that of MCl3 (M = U, Ln).

Special and virtual issues

Acta Crystallographica Section C is planning special issues on

The Structural Chemistry of Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysts

NMR Crystallography.

Full details are available on the special issues page.

The latest virtual issue, featuring Coordination polymers and with an introduction by Len Barbour, was published in July 2014.

What are the 'most read' articles from the recent special issues?
