The structures of the title compounds consist of layers of alkali cations and H2PO2 hypophosphite anions, with the latter bridging four cations within the same layer. The hypophosphite anion has a distorted tetrahedral arrangement, with the P atom at the centre and two O and two H atoms at the vertices.

The structure of Na6Mg2(VO4)2(V2O7) contains randomly oriented isolated pyrovanadate groups linked together by MgO6 octahedra, thus forming a three-dimensional framework.

SrCoO2.64 crystallizes with a cubic perovskite-type structure. The displacement ellipsoids of the O atoms show large anisotropy in a direction perpendicular to that of the Co—O bonds.

Acta Crystallographica Section C is planning special issues on

The Structural Chemistry of Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysts

NMR Crystallography.

Full details are available on the special issues page.

The latest virtual issue, featuring Coordination polymers and with an introduction by Len Barbour, was published in July 2014.
