IUCr licence to publish
Please read the terms of this licence carefully.
In order to publish your article we need you to grant us a licence to publish. Selecting the box next to the statement `I accept the licence to publish and author's warranty terms below' during the online submission process will be taken as an assurance that you agree to, and have the right to grant, this licence.
By agreeing to this licence, you grant the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) the exclusive right throughout the world to edit, adapt, translate, publish, reproduce, distribute and display your article in printed, electronic or any other medium and format whether now known or yet to be developed, and in turn to authorise others (including Reproduction Rights Organisations such as the Copyright Licensing Agency and the Copyright Clearance Center) to do the same. This licence is effective if and when your article is accepted for publication in Acta Crystallographica, IUCrData, IUCrJ, Journal of Applied Crystallography or Journal of Synchrotron Radiation.
You are not required to transfer copyright to the IUCr. You also reserve the right to use your article in the following ways:
(1) The right to use all or part of this article in future works prepared by or on your behalf.
(2) In the case of `work for hire', the right of the employer to incorporate all or part of this article in future works.
(3) The royalty-free right of the employer to make copies of this article, without further permission, for his or her own use but not for resale.
(4) The right to post a copy of the author accepted manuscript on your personal website, on your employer's website/repository and on not-for-profit repositories in your subject area, provided a permanent link is given from your posting to the final article on the IUCr website. A CC-BY licence may be applied to the author accepted manuscript, as required by some funders.
(5) The right to post an authorised electronic reprint of the final version of the article on your personal website, on your employer's website/repository and on not-for-profit repositories in your subject area, provided a permanent link is given from your posting to the final published article on the IUCr website.
A full bibliographic reference to the article should be given when you use or distribute your article as permitted by this licence.
We promise that we will respect your rights as the author(s). That is, we will make sure that your name(s) is/are always clearly associated with the article, that your article is fairly reviewed and that we will let you know the outcome of the review as quickly as possible. When the article is accepted, we undertake to publish it as soon as we reasonably can. If it is rejected, this agreement is automatically cancelled and all the rights come back to you. We will do everything we reasonably can to maximise the visibility of the journal, and of your article within it.
