proteopedia

The IUCr is working with Proteopedia, to help our journal authors explain and promote their publications.

Proteopedia is a collaborative, 3D web resource with pages that describe protein and nucleic acid structures and their structure/function relationships through descriptive text linked to rotatable, zoomable 3D structures.

Upon acceptance of their article, authors will be offered an opportunity to create a Proteopedia page. The page will be embedded in the published article, see, for example, the Proteopedia molecular tour widget below and the supporting information section of

Schneider, B., Bozikova, P., Necasova, I., Cech, P., Svozil, D. & Cerny, J. (2018). A DNA structural alphabet provides new insight into DNA flexibility. Acta Cryst. D74, 52-64.

The page will also be availble on the Proteopedia website, e.g.

http://proteopedia.org/w/Journal:Acta_Cryst_D:2

The Proteopedia pages, with interactive, 3D views of the structure, are created pre-publication and released publicly upon article publication.
