Cover illustration: The structures of a new polymorph of famotidine hydrochloride, a famotidine hydrochloride hydrate, a new hydronitrate salt of famotidine, and an unexpected hydrolyzed complex of famotidine are reported. The famotidine hydrochloride hydrate and the hydrolyzed famotidine hydrochloride have Z′ values of 2 and 4, respectively. See Weaver, Oliver & Barstis [Acta Cryst. (2026), C82, 241–249].

The zero-dimensional (0D) perovskite 1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane hexabromidostannate(IV) hemihydrate displays dominant H⋯Br/Br⋯H interactions, with smaller contributions from H⋯H, Br⋯Br and O⋯Br/Br⋯O contacts. These structural features underline the role of hydrogen bonding in stabilizing the 0D framework, highlighting the potential of this compound for light-emitting and photonic applications.

Seven substituted dithiolene compounds featuring diverse functional groups were synthesized through nucleophilic substitution, cyclocondensation, and transchalcogenation reactions. Structural characterization by single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed distinct crystallographic systems and intermolecular interactions, further supported by Hirshfeld surface and 2D fingerprint plot analyses. Selected derivatives were evaluated for antiproliferative activity against the NCI-60 cancer cell line panel, exhibiting the lowest cell-growth percentages and negligible toxicity against normal cells.

The chiral resolution of (S)- and (R)-phenyllactic acid and a racemic macrocyclic nickel(II) complex is reported. The enantiomers display hydrogen bonding of the monomers and form one-dimensional zigzag chains. The homochiral natures were confirmed by circular dichroism spectral measurements.

A water-soluble and solvent-processable NiII coordination polymer comprising an extended one-dimensional anionic framework has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The anionic polymeric chains are charge balanced by ethylenediammonium cations via Coulombic interactions, which also act as structure-directing agents. Extensive O—H⋯O and N—H⋯O hydrogen bonding links the chains into a three-dimensional supramolecular assembly. The compound shows notable antifungal activity against Candida albicans.

Obtaining high-performance hydrated sodium titanates is crucial for widespread applications in photocatalysis, sodium batteries, hydrogen production, storage and solar cells. Herein, hydrated sodium titanate nanocrystals were prepared by a hydrothermal method using industrially produced H2TiO3 nanopowders as the main raw material. The effects of NaOH concentration, reaction temperature and reaction time on the phase and morphology of the final products were studied.
