High-resolution synchrotron data have been used to determine the splitting of K sites in the Pna21 structure of KTiOPO4 (KTP) at room temperature.

The crystal structure of Ag2Hg2(TeO4)3 is made up of 1[(TeO2/1O4/2)({TeO2/1O2/2}2O4/2)] chains with TeVI in octa­hedral coordination. The chains are linked by distorted AgO6 and HgO6 polyhedra into a three-dimensional network.

A new three-dimensional bimetallic tellurium halogenide, Ca2CuTe4O10Cl2, was synthesized by a transport reaction starting with CaO, CuO, CuCl2 and TeO2, and was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The three-dimensional framework is built from anionic {[CuTe4O10Cl2]4}n layers parallel to (0\overline{1}0) and connected via Ca—O bonds. The anionic layers are formed by two types of polyhedra, namely centrosymmetric CuO4Cl2 octa­hedra and TeO4E distorted bipyramids (E being the 5s2 lone pair of TeIV).
