The structure of the synthetic trioctahedral mica potassium triiron(II) aluminasilaferrate(III) decaoxide di­hydroxide, KFeII3(Al0.26FeIII0.76Si3)O10(OH)2, has been determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data measured at 270 and 100 K.

Powder neutron diffraction data recorded both in situ in air and in vacuo at 1073 K show that the high-temperature tetragonal polymorph of CeNbO4 is fully stoichiometric.

The two novel title compounds, Rb2[CrCl5(H2O)] and Cs2[CrCl5(H2O)], are structurally distinct, with pseudo-cubic and pseudo-octahedral coordinations, respectively, of alkali ions around the chromate complexes.

The structures of Mg2Na2V10O28·20H2O, (I), and Mg3V10O28·28H2O, (II), contain octahedral [Mg(H2O)6]2+ cations. The Na+ cations in (I) link the decavanadate anions into a three-dimensional network.

The crystal structures of the tri- and tetrahydrate of tin tetrachloride are reported and discussed. The trihydrate contains chains of the tin species linked by a single hydrogen-bonded water mol­ecule, whilst the tetrahydrate has a three-dimensional network. In addition, there are O—H⋯Cl interactions present.

A structural study shows that by changing the cooling speed during the synthesis of the title compound, the structure changes from a cyclic structure to one containing chains.
