Cover illustration: 9,10-Dihydroanthracene-succinimides are target molecules for pharmaceutical and medical uses and their related pyrrolidines have also found applications as organocatalysts. In the title compound, C25H23N·CHCl3, the N atom of the pyrrolidine heterocycle exhibits a pronounced pyramidalization [[Sigma](C-N-C) = 328.07°], indicating an accentuated N-donor character. In the crystal, this behaviour is evident by the C-H...N hydrogen bond involving a solvent molecule and the N atom. In view of the presence of the chloroform solvent molecule is was possible to confirm crystallographically that the absolute configuration at the C-atom fused positions of the pyrrolidine group are S and R. Research communications

The first papers in this new format were published in July 2014. Research communications are longer papers with new text sections designed to help authors bring out the science behind their structure determinations. Figures are included in the published paper and, for the first time in Acta E, individual reports are not limited to single structure determinations. The Research communications format will make Acta E the natural home for structure determinations with interesting science to report.
