Cover illustration: In the lead(II)-containing dithiophosphonate complex, [Pb(C₁₁H₁₆O₂PS₂)₂], the coordination geometry of the attached S,S-bidentate ligands approximates to a square-based pyramid, with the (unobserved) lone-pair of the metal ion in the apical position. The four Pb-S and P-S bond lengths both fall into two longer + two shorter groupings, suggesting that one of the P-S bonds has more double-bond character than the other.
